Police said that around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, a vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Daniel Burke, hit a police car that was parked on the 198 at the scene of a previous accident, almost hitting two officers.

Detectives continue to investigate deadly shooting on Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Police say they were called to the shooting just after 8 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue. Detectives say the victim, a black male in his early 30s, was found in a vacant lot between two houses.

Judge Michael D’Amico sentenced the North Collins man to 40 years to life. In April, a jury found Wright guilty of torturing, raping, and imprisoning Cummings, his mentally disabled half-sister. Wright was found guilty on all ten charges.

Veterans’ Hospital Raising Money for New Van on Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

The van will be used to transport local veterans from their homes to medical appointments and back. The hospital currently has seven vans, but is looking for donations to replace one of them.
