An Interview With A Groundhog on Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Earlier today on Brad Riter’s radio show on WECK1230AM, we celebrated Groundhog’s Day by reaching out to the legendary and original weather predicting groundhog, Scajaquada Sam.

Few people know that Scajaquada Sam (who currently lives behind Santaserio’s Itlian Restaurant on Niagara Street) was the victim of intellectual theft…he originally came up with the concept of predicting the length and severity of winter right here in Buffalo, only to have it stolen by Punxsutawney Phil.

Sam is mostly known to the neighborhood as a heavy drinking womanizer with a predilection for horse porn and father of several of wedlock children.  He has dodged the spotlight for years since his last interview with Wadi Sawabini back in 1986 resulted in assault charges.  However, Tom Dolina of our site and Tommunisms.com caught Sam in a moment of sobriety to get his story.
