El Buen Amigo: The Good Friend on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Join El Buen Amigo as they throw a fiesta to celebrate the work of Buffalo ReUse! It's time for these two fine community organizations to come together for the sake of celebration.

Buffalo ReUse works through green demolition to create jobs and build a healthy and sustainable community on Buffalo's East Side, and El Buen Amigo works through the Fair Trade marketplace to create jobs and build a just and sustainable economic community for artisans in Latin America.

It is becoming increasingly important in this time of economic crisis that local businesses and organizations support and encourage each other.  On February 19th, El Buen Amigo will show what a good friend they are, when they celebrate the camaraderie and strength they must call upon to rebuild this city, together.

The evening will feature traditional Latin food, live music and dancing.  And for those of you not yet sure how to shake your hips, a pre-party salsa class with Lisa Grisanti (left) will begin at 5:30PM.

There will be two very special musical guests for the evening: Clandestina y la Raza Cosmica, performing the beautiful  lost Mexican folk music of El Son Jarocho, and members of the Latin Jazz Project. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes!

The fiesta will serve as a collaborative fundraiser. The cost for the entire evening is just $20.

You may purchase tickets at El Buen Amigo, the Buffalo ReUse warehouse or online here.
