While most airports and train stations have shifted from CRT terminals to plasma screens to display arrivals and departures, the world is starting to lose its Solari di Udine flip signs.

Developed in the 60s, they’re all over the world, and a few still exist. And to me their kineticism is evocative of travel itself. And although travel is a routine nuisance to many, to many more it remains something exciting.
