Gourmet Tasting Event Sunday on Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

This Sunday, the Buffalo chapter of the American Culinary Federation will present its annual Taste of Culinary event in The Atrium of ECC's City Campus. This successful event provides ticket holders with the opportunity to sample delicious foods from over 35 local restaurants, hotels, winemakers and food artisans. Additionally, both the NCCC culinary program and the ECC culinary program offer samples of their students' work.

Entertainment is provided by the band, EZ3, and as a guest, you will have the opportunity to bid on cool foodie-themed auction items (like gourmet food baskets and wine tastings), as well as the chance to win a chef-prepared meal in your home.  Proceeds go to support the students' culinary competition teams and the Chef & Child Foundation, a non-profit entity supported by the ACF which focuses on providing nutrition education to children and their parents.

IMG_3242.jpg I've attended this event in the past and would best describe it as a gourmet take on the traditional, outdoor food festival.  ACF Chapter President Scott Steiner tells me, "The event is a unique and intriguing food and beverage tasting event which will give individuals an opportunity to explore culinary creations that they would not normally consume.  For $25, you can't go wrong."  And he's right.  The pleasant environment, good food, opportunity to meet local chefs and the upbeat enthusiasm of the student attendees make the ticket a very good value.  Some tickets will be available at the door, but they've sold out in the past, so it's a good idea to purchase them online by visiting the local chapter's website.
