Governor David A. Paterson today announced that he has appointed Kyle Andrews to serve as Niagara County Treasurer, filling a vacancy created when the prior county treasurer resigned earlier this year. Mr. Andrews previously served as a member of the Niagara County Legislature, a position he was elected to in January 2002. At that time, he was the youngest elected county official in New York State.
In addition to his service to Niagara County in the county legislature, Mr. Andrews is also in private legal practice, specializing in public finance, real estate transactions and estate planning.
Mr. Andrews is a Captain in the United States Army Reserve, currently serving in the 98th Division in Rochester as a member of the Judge Advocate General Corps.
Mr. Andrews is on the boards of directors of the Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara Foundation, the Niagara County Soil and Water Conservation District and is a member of the NIOGA Libraries Legislative Board. He is the president of the Wilson Historical Society and belongs to the Wilson Lions Club and Exley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Andrews earned a B.A. from Niagara University, summa cum laude, and a J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law. He lives in Wilson with his wife Jamie.
