Richmond Place Inn on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

While searching for places to stay in the city I came across the Richmond Place Inn (bed and breakfast) located right around the corner from my house. I've passed by this residence thousands of times over the years and somehow never noticed the sign in front. Moments ago I called the number and spoke with a gentlemen who told me that the bed and breakfast has been around for ten years!

He told me that the inn took a big hit during the October Storm - that's when they lost their awning and a major part of the building was damaged. Since that time the owner has fixed the issues and I must say that the unusual looking building is unusually eye-catching. Maybe that is because there is nothing else like it around. The website lists amenities that include delectable breakfasts served in the dining area or guests can request breakfast delivered to their rooms. Air conditioning, cable, private baths in some units, laundry facilities and single to queen-sized beds are also on the list.

As far as location goes, Richmond Place Inn is within walking distance of Kleinhans Music Hall and Allentown. It's also right on the Richmond bike lane that can get you to destinations along Elmwood effortlessly.

Singles go for as little as $59 - tax included.
