With the Buffalo Bills training camp two days away, and their first preseason game only a little over two weeks away, it would be a good idea for all of us to review the new rule changes for the upcoming season.

Of course the one big one that I’m a huge fan of is the change of the overtime possession rule. We all grew up knowing the first team to score wins the game in OT, but not anymore. Unfortunately, this rule only applies in postseason games, but here is the new rule as explained from Chris Brown of Buffalobills.com.

“Each team will have a chance to possess the ball once in overtime. If the team that wins the toss in OT scored a touchdown on their first possession however, the game is over. If they score a FG the game is not over and the other team will have a chance to possess. Remember if neither team scores on their first possession in overtime, regular sudden death rules apply. ”

Let’s hope the Bills have a chance to see this rule change first hand while making the postseason for the first time since 1999.
