Run into Buffalo on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Buffalo is certainly becoming a running city. Trying to keep up with the runs can even be a challenge. Whether it's the Buffalo Marathon of the Stiletto Run, the challenges and the accompanying events are widespread and diverse, and help to raise money for organizations in need. One of the upcoming races, in its fourth year, is the Fleet Feet 15K-Run into Buffalo, which takes place on Labor Day (9/6/10).  Race proceeds go towards Shoes on Students (SOS), a Fleet Feet Sports initiative that helps to deliver new Brooks training shoes for high school runners.

From Alice Loncto, Owner/President Fleet Feet Sports:

"The 2010 Fleet Feet 15K-Run into Buffalo promises to be another exciting race.  Our designation as the USA National Masters Championship, the USATF Niagara Association Championship as well as a Buffalo News Runner of the Year race is attracting some very impressive competition from across New York and the US.  The entries in the Masters competition has drawn runners from Michigan, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Ohio, California, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and some great Open division runners from upstate NY and Canada.

"The race is planning on 600+ runners with the start and finish on the waterfront at the Erie Canal Harbour park in downtown.  The post-race party has been revamped this year and will feature a breakfast selection as well as lunch catered by Fat Bob's Smokehouse.  Lots of music and the awards ceremony to recognize our 2010 winners too.

"We thank our sponsors for their support. We have been able to donate 1,000 pairs of shoes to young runners over the past 3 years.  Our sponsors, all the runners and the volunteers who help to make our race a success allow us to inspire our young athletes to achieve their dreams.

"So Buffalo come out and support the Fleet Feet 15K-Run into Buffalo.  Run the race.  Volunteer to help out on race morning.  Cheer the runners on the course which takes in the marina, Delaware Avenue, the Olmsted Parkways and back down Delaware Ave to the finish at Canalside."
