Did you get my lame joke? No? Well, in case you didn't, it's reference to quirky indie pop band Tokyo Police Club who will be in town Sunday, July 25th for a show at the lovely Town Ballroom. I, for one, am very excited to see this band. Although they're from nearby Toronto I have not yet had the chance to catch their live set.

What's the big deal you ask? Well for one, these guys are masters of crafting a catchy sing-alongs. Their debut LP Elephant Shell, which was released in 2008, is rife with hooks and boasts 11 tracks that could stand up as singles. While I'm not yet as familiar with their new LP Champ (which just came out last month), my limited experience thus far has been similar. Their show is probably going to consist of a lot of fan sing-alongs and fist pumps...or maybe that will just be nerdy ol' me.

Well as I see it Buffalo, we're lucky to be chosen as a stop on this tour when the band could have easily selected a venue slightly closer to home. Come on out and support these guys while they're touring in support of Champ. I'm positive you'll have a great time. Great band, great venue, Great Gatsby's!

Here's the video for the first single off of Champ titled "Wait Up (Boots of Danger)"

See? Catchy, right?
