Subway Attempts to Trademark “Footlong”, Good Luck With That on Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Doctor’s Associates, Inc, the parent company of Subway has applied for a trademark on the word “Footlong” in association with their sandwiches. And they’re already attempting to scare other restaurants into not using term.

NPR’s Planet Money reports on a Florida restaurant that sells footlong hot-dogs, called “footlongs” (duh!) getting a letter from Subway’s lawyers sent [...]
