We like to throw Internet parties here in the Roost, so we’re hosting a meganormous live chat to celebrate hockey’s Christmas: July 1.
We’ll open shop early on Friday (probably about 10 a.m. or so) and the floodgates officially open at noon. If you want to help out (as a moderator or if you want the code for the chat) let us know, either through email or Twitter. If you just want to hang out, that’s cool too. The more the merrier.
I’m working on integrating the essential Twitter feeds into the chat, so hopefully this can be a one-stop shop for Sabres fans.
This post will be stickied to the top of the Roost on Friday. Hope to see you then.
We so excited.
You’ll be able to get to the chat through this link, too.

The State’s Attorney General is expanding his office’s services in Western New York. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman made the announcement in Buffalo Tuesday. As YNN’s Kaitlyn Lionti reports, Schneiderman’s goal is to give residents a place to report government corruption without the influence of local politics.

There was an email in my inbox this afternoon that I thought was worth sharing.
Starting with ‘Young Nicholas,’ and ending with ‘Warm regards,’ this email that was cc’d to Erie County Republican legislators perfectly and succinctly describes the failures of ECGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy. So, I will do the same out of respect for the sender, former Republican Mayoral candidate, Matt Ricchiazzi and let the email speak for itself.

I found the itemized list of Langworthy failures to be particularly riveting considering that the Chairman is still leaning on whatever credibility he earned in getting Chris Collins and Chris Lee elected sometime last decade. Whatever you think of Ricchiazzi and his own political history, you have to wonder if this is the beginning of a public revolt within the ECGOP. After full year of policy and party mismanagement with nary a chance to breathe, the culture of ‘what have you done for me lately’ is certain to start gaining its voice. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more public attacks from GOP insiders aimed at their former boy wonder.
